Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actor and performer whose performance variety earned her acclaim in a variety of genres from period drama to thrillers and action. Johansson was the child of a film producer as well as an architect. The family is from New York City. Hunter and her twin brother, and she were the youngest of a family of four. Her interest began in acting at a young age and was auditioning for commercials before age seven. After that, she was enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and later took classes at the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further refine her skills. In the Off Broadway play Sophistry she acted alongside Ethan Hawke. She then appeared in her first film in North (1994), produced by Rob Reiner, at age nine. Johansson was later seen on the screen in Just Cause (1995), however, her breakthrough occurred with Manny & Lo a coming of age film about sisters who run away. The Horse Whisperer (2000), in which she played the role of a teenage girl who has a deformity due to an accident garnered her critical acclaim. Then in Ghost World 2001 (as the teenager who is a cynical outcast Rebecca) Johansson received even more recognition. She gave a number of stunning performances including Wildflower. Renee Felice Smith started her career in entertainment from a very young age. While she was still a young child Smith was interested in the field of acting. Smith was offered the first of many acting jobs when she was just 6. On a TV commercial in which she played Dannon Yogurt. As many new actresses, she chose to develop her talent in theatre. She also worked in other productions across the USA as well, and Wildflower was her first stage production. She was a graduate of her Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
